Construction

Triply laminated solid wood. Deep penetrating factory finishes applied to wood surfaces before glazing, hardware, and weather stripping. Engineering principles behind sash and frame profiling.
Traditional mortice and tenon joinery. Dowelled ship lapped muntin bars. State of the art hardware components. Result: permit peak thermal, acoustical, and security performance.

Sorpetaler's product palette includes multiple design series in wood and metal clad wood windows and doors.

Customization

The only items we take off the shelves are components used to make your windows and doors. Products common to Europe and North America ensure that the project aesthetic can be honored.

Diverse Window Architecture

Sorpetaler's multiple Design Series speak to contemporary and traditional preferences for wood and metal clad wood windows – whether glass house or post and beam Sorpetaler compliments.

Energy efficiency

Thermal performance has always been prioritized. Our highest rated fenestration offers an R value of approximately 11, thereby exceeding levels set by ASTM and AAMA specifications.

Timeliness

Sorpetaler provides extremely fast lead times compared with other custom millwork shops foreign or domestic. Manufacture is typically 5‐7 weeks. Shipping to the East coast adds 3 weeks; to the West coast 5‐6 weeks.

Installation

Customers have access to Sorpetaler‐trained installation crews.

Support

Our engineering support crew has decades of custom millwork and engineering experience and can provide project based engineering guidance.

Environmental Stewardship

Sorpetaler has promoted FSC certified woods since their inception in the 1990s. Sorpetaler sources timber from responsibly managed forest lands, is a net producer of wood briquettes from wood waste, and continually monitors alternate species and technologies that leave the lightest footprint for our heirs.

Low Carbon Footprint

Though imported from Germany, our carbon footprint simulates a car trip from New York to Minnesota.
